Hi Scrappy Tails Crafters! Thank you so much for joining our Spring Inspiration blog and video hop! The Scrappy Tails design team members are using new products from our recent “Heartfelt Wings” collection. This release is inspired by beautiful butterflies, birds and blooms. Along the hop you’ll find lots of beautiful Easter, Mother’s Day and Spring themed cards.

Hop along and leave your comments on each blog and video for the chance to win one of two $25 gift cards to Scrappy Tails! The more you comment, the more opportunities there are to win.

The hop ends on April 8th at 11:59 PM EST. Winners will be announced on the Scrappy Tails Craft’s Youtube channel and blog on April 9th.

I used the A7 Layering Butterfly Dies to create a butterfly shaped card!!

I began by die-cutting the bottom layer of the A7 Layering Butterfly Dies from Bristol smooth cardstock and blended Villainous Potion, Prized Ribbon and Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide Inks onto it. I spritzed it liberally with glitter spray to blend the colors together and add lots of sparkle. The top detail layer and the body were die-cut from black cardstock. I also die-cut the bottom layer from a scored card base, letting the top of the wings hang off the folded edge to create my card base.

The sentiment, from the Spread Your Wings Stamp Set, was white heat embossed onto black cardstock and cut out with its Coordinating Die. It was popped up across the body of the butterfly with foam adhesive.

I added some White Pearls to the butterfly wings and this card was finished.

I love shaped cards and this A7 Layering Butterfly Die Set is perfect to create them!! Be sure to check out the entire new Heartfelt Wings Release in the Scrappy Tails Crafts Shop!!

  1. I just love this release. One I love butterflies. They used to be so abundant, but now when I see one I feel so blessed. I’m a bird lover too. I actually make my own suet blocks and other treats for my birds.
Your card is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Hi Brenda. I am new to Scrappy Tails, and I am so happy I went on this hop. I like larger cards in general, but larger shaped cards are the BEST. This large butterfly is going on my Wish List. Thank you for explaining every step. It’s gorgeous. Your color blending and pearl placement is perfect.
