Simon Says Stamp Shine On Release Blog Hop – Day 1

Hello, friends and welcome to day 1 of the Simon Says Stamp Shine On Release blog hop!! This is the first day of two hops, so be sure to check out tomorrow’s hop, as well!! Simon Says Stamp is generously giving away a $25 gift card for each stop on the hop, so make sure to leave comments along the way!! Plus, the Deco Blossoms stamp set is added to your cart with any purchase from the Shine On Collection!!

You should have arrived here from Betsy Green’s blog!! You can always start at the beginning over on the Simon Says Stamp blog!! I’ll have a complete list of stops at the end of this post!!

Let’s get to my project created with several of the new goodies from the Shine On Release: Flourish Beautiful Butterfly Die Set, Leafy Greens Stencil, Cottagecore Stamp Set and the A7 Arches Die Set!!

I started by die-cutting the butterflies from white and black cardstock and pearlized silver vellum using the Flourish Beautiful Butterfly Die Set. I blended Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Inks onto the white layer, then adhered the layers together, adding liquid glue only in the center of the wings.

For the background, I blended the Leafy Greens Stencil onto a panel of pale aqua cardstock using Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks. I trimmed the panel with a rectangle die, then adhered it to a white A2 card base. The butterflies were adhered to the background, adding liquid glue only behind the body so the wings are allowed to “pop up”.

The sentiment, from the Cottagecore Stamp Set was stamped onto white cardstock with black pigment ink. It was die-cut with one of the smaller dies from the A7 Arches Die Set. I die-cut pearlized silver vellum with the next largest die and adhered the sentiment arch to it with foam squares, then adhered it along the right edge of the card, trimming off the excess. Lots of pearls finish off the card.

I love the shimmer from the pearlized vellum and the way the butterfly wings look like they’re flying off the card!!

I’m the last stop on the hop, so your next stop is Simon Says Stamp!!
