Spellbinders Foiled Basics by Yana Smakula

Hello, friends!! Happy Thursday!! I recently received a couple of new Spellbinders products from the Foiled Basics by Yana Smakula Collection to play with!! I absolutely adore Yana’s style and couldn’t wait to get started!!

I created two cards…I only wish that the foiling showed up as beautifully in photos as it does in real life!! It is amazing how much class foiling adds to a card!! My husband picked one up and said “WOW…that’s so cool”!!

I started by foiling the images from the Organic Foliage Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set and the sentiments from Yana’s Sentiments Glimmer Hot Foil Plate & Die Set onto two different shades of blue cardstock. I used Moondust Foil on the lighter blue and Prism on the darker one.

I cut background panels in the same shades of blue for a tone-on-tone look. I ink blended Mermaid Lagoon and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Inks onto the edges and middle of the panels. Diluted Distress Oxide Inks in the same colors were splattered onto the backgrounds with a paint brush.

I trimmed the panels slightly and adhered them to a panel of holographic mirror cardstock. This shine around the outside really compliments the foiling on the die-cuts!!

I shaped the foiled die-cuts into heart shapes and picked them up with Press N Seal. This allowed me add foam adhesive to the back of the die-cuts as one piece.

After adhering the hearts to the center of the panels, liquid glue was added between some of the die-cuts. A few sequins, adhered diagonally, were the finishing touch!!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! You can see the rest of Yana’s Collection HERE.

Have a great day!!
