Spellbinders – Modern Essentials Collection

Hey there everyone!! I am absolutely thrilled to be guest posting for Spellbinders today!! I have three cards to share with you today featuring the new Modern Essentials Collection!!

I pulled out all of my iridescent foils and got to work!! This first card showcases several of the Modern Essentials Collection with the Prism Foil.

I began by hot foiling one of the Essential Glimmer Rectangles Foil Plates, a sentiment from More Sentiments and a butterfly from Glimmering Butterflies onto white cardstock using thePrism Foil. I die-cut the butterfly and sentiment with the included dies.

I ran one of the Nestabilities Essential Rectangle Etched Dies through my die-cut machine to cut the dots from a panel of pink iridescent paper. (I LOVE how this cuts a dotted border around the shape!) Then, I cut both rectangles out with dies included in the Nestabilities Essential Rectangle Etched Dies

Next, I die-cut the Leaf Pattern Die and some leaves (from the May Card Kit) from white cardstock. I adhered all of the elements as shown, popping up the butterfly and sentiment strip with foam adhesive

A few sequins finished off the card!!

Other supplies: Neenah 80# & 110# white cardstock, DCWV Shimmer Paper Pad, The Ton Summer Soiree’ sequins, liquid adhesive, foam adhesive

My second card combines several products from the Modern Essentials Collection withAura Foil

I foiled one of the Essential Glimmer Circles Hot Foil Plates, a butterfly from Glimmering Butterflies and a greeting from More Sentiments Foil Plates onto white cardstock with Aura Foil. I cut the dots in a peach iridescent cardstock with the Nestabilities Essential Circle Etched Dies, then cut both circles out with dies from the same set. I also die-cut the butterfly and sentiment strip.

For the background, I used the Quilt It Embossing Folder from FSJ to create a subtle texture (sorry, this is retired now). I adhered the circles off-set and trimmed the excess. I added the die-cut leaves (from the May Card Kit), then the butterfly and sentiment strip were adhered with foam tape.

A sprinkling of iridescent pearl sequins was the finishing touch!!!

Other supplies: Neenah 80# & 110# white cardstock, DCWV Shimmer Paper Pad, The Ton Summer Soiree’ Sequins, liquid adhesive, foam adhesive

Here is my final (and favorite) card.

For this one, I foiled one of the Essential Glimmer Ovals, two butterflies from Glimmering Butterflies and a birthday sentiment from More Sentiments onto white cardstock with Moondust Foil. I die-cut a rectangle (and the dotted border) with one of the Nestabilities Essential Rectangles Etched Dies from blue iridescent cardstock and the foiled oval with the Nestabilities Essential Oval Dies. The butterflies and sentiment strip were also cut out with the corresponding dies.

The FSJ Rose Garden Die (cut from white cardstock) made the perfect background. I layered it over blue iridescent cardstock, then adhered the rectangle and oval dies and die-cut leaves (from the May Card Kit). The butterflies and sentiment strip were once again adhered with dimensional adhesive.
