Spellbinders Susan’s Garden Favorites – Lilac

Happy Monday, friends!! I hope your week is off to a great start!!

I have another card to share with you today featuring the Susan’s Garden Favorites Collection from Spellbinders!! I absolutely LOVE all of the dimension the dies in this collection creates and the Lilac Etched Die Set is no exception!!

Is there anything better than the fragrant scent of lilacs blooming in the Spring?

I started by ink smooshing Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Villainous Potion Distress Oxide Inks onto panels of watercolor paper. Be sure to do both sides, as they will both show when the petals are shaped. Once the panels are dry, die-cut the lilac florets using the Lilac Etched Die Set and shape them with a stylus. (This video has great instructions on shaping and assembling the blooms.) I die-cut the leaves and bases from white cardstock and blended Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness Distress Oxide Ink onto them.

For the background, I embossed a white panel of cardstock with the Spreading Love Embossing Folder of the Month and adhered it to a white top-folding card base. The lilacs and leaves were adhered along the left side, folding some of the leaves for dimension. The dimension created from the base gives “roundness” and shape to the lilacs. I added some green Stickles to the centers of each little floret.

The sentiment, from the Glimmer Sentiments for Everyday Set, was foiled onto white cardstock with black foil. It was die-cut with the die included in the set and popped up onto the front of the card with foam adhesive.

I really love how this turned out and hope you do, as well!!

Thank you so much for dropping in today!! Have a wonderful week and I’ll see you soon!!
