Spellbinders Susan’s Spring Flora Collection – Kerria Japonica

Hello, friends and welcome to a brand new week!! How do you feel about Mondays? It’s a mixed bag for me…sometimes I look forward to a fresh start, but most of the time I hate to see the weekend come to an end! Hopefully this card will brighten your Monday a bit!!

I have been LOVING yellow lately, so when I got the Kerria Japonica Die set from Spellbinders I was excited to see they were yellow!! This card came together pretty quickly! The most time consuming part is die-cutting all of the layers of flowers and adhering them together! The dies actually have the number of times that you cut each layer stamped on them. I die-cut the layers of flowers from two different colors of yellow cardstock, using a couple of lighter layers on the bottom. The leaves were cut from green cardstock.

I die-cut the diamond from black cardstock using two dies in the Diamond Floral Frame Glimmer Hot Foil Plate and Die Set and adhered it to the middle of a white cardbase. I trimmed the panel slightly and matted it with a panel of yellow cardstock, then adhered it to the top-folding card base.

“Hello” was die-cut four times from black cardstock and once from black glitter cardstock using a die from the Simply Perfect Mix & Match Sentiments Die Set. The layers were stacked and adhered together with the glitter layer on top, then it was adhered in the center of the diamond. The flowers and leaves were arranged and adhered as shown. Lastly, a few black gemstone stickers add a little shine!

I really love all of the dimension you can create with these layering dies!!

Thank you so much for spending a bit of your day with me!! Have a great week and I’ll see you soon!!
