Hello, friends and happy weekend!! I needed a relatively quick sympathy card so I pulled out the Bonsai Tree Die Set from Scrappy Tails Crafts!!

I started by die-cutting the Bonsai Tree Dies from tan and light green cardstock. I added shading to the trunk with Vintage Photo and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink and shaded the green die-cuts with Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness Distress Inks. All the pieces were adhered together with liquid glue.

For the background, I blended the ground with the same green Distress Inks and used Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks for the sky. The panel was die-cut with a rectangle die. I wanted some clouds for the sky, so I die-cut the clouds in the Rainbow Bridge Die Set several times from white cardstock and adhered them to the background with liquid glue, trimming the excess from the edges. It was adhered to a white A2 card base. The tree was also adhered with liquid glue.

The sentiment is also included in the Bonsai Tree Die Set. I blended Tumbled Glass and Mermaid Lagoon Distress Inks onto a small piece of white cardstock and die-cut the top layer of the sentiment from it. The shadow layer was cut from white cardstock. The layers were adhered together with liquid glue, then popped up with foam squares and this card was finished.

I love the simplicity and elegance of this!! Perfect for a sympathy card, if you ask me!!
